If you can't tell from the extensive title, I recently bought another Plex DPCF: Sir Crocodile (Samurai version.) Basically it is a piece of beauty that I adore. So I won't harp any further on that point. Plex really outdid themselves on this one, I mean just take a look at the pictures:
The box is huuuuge. Just for comparison I have a normal Nendoroid box next to him (It's Kuma/Teddie from Persona 4 which I'll review soon.)
The back has Oda's artwork that inspired this upcoming set of figures, which I think is just cool to include. Also the back is where they place the toei stickers on most of the Plex figures I've seen so look for this when buying one. The inside of the boxes have some kind of pattern and logo in them so be on the lookout for that as well.
I just love it when a base is designed to match the figure more so than just 'this is a base' and that is all. Whats really cool are the indentations in the base that make it perfect for setting him in place. It feels really solid when he is in them.
Here he is assembled in his drinking pose! Its nice how close to the artwork it is, and I should point out that his arm and hand can pivot, as well as his hook. Another nice feature is his head is on a ball joint, so you can position it however you enjoy it.
The details in the clothes are super fine. I love the combination of shine and matte. The folds and armor are really convincing as well.
All the pieces are solid and fit really really well, color me impressed.
Just a shot of the alternate parts, and I just really loved discovering that the sword pulls out of the sheath. My favorite Pose is him with the smoking head and the katana in hand. It's just great, hands down.
So was he worth the money? I was lucky enough to get this one from the hobbylink Japan Black Friday sale, so it was at reduced cost, but the shipping was crazy oh him. Worth it though? yes and YES. If you are considering this figure, and have the funds for him I say go for it, he is a joy to any One Piece fan.
