One Piece Figuarts Zero Rebecca

Finally! Time to update my blogspot, and with the lovely Figuarts Zero Rebecca:

I won't type much into this one since I have a video of the opening, but I will include still pictures and some info below that:

Figuarts Zero: Killer

It's been a while since I did a proper Figuarts Zero review so lets take a look at a pretty neat supernova: Killer.

Here is the box, and wow do I love this design.  It has the stripes like Killer's helmet along with the Figuarts Zero scroll work seen around the windows of the box.  My favorite part is the bright neon orange of the lettering.  It's really eye catching, like most of the Figuarts Zero boxes.

Freshly popped out of the plastic killer doesn't have his blades attached.  He has his base with his name, dead or alive, and the Kidd pirates jolly roger on the base.

 

I always like seeing how the clothing and the hair are done on these figures.  For Killer it stays quite true to his character design.  His DBZ-esque hair in particular is quite the draw for this figure.

Adding on his blades really completes the figure.  These were really difficult to put on in all honesty.  The attachments for the blades were slightly too large along with being oddly soft.  Basically it takes time, but it's worth it.

Even from the back, the blades look intimidating.  Really like the details for his chaps as well. Man Killer, that's some great hair.....

Here are some detail shots.  I really like the hands and the weapons on Killer's figure.  My favorite might be the metallic paint on Killers helmet.

I don't have any sour opinions on this Killer figure.  All of the elements work well together, and the sculpt and paint are solid.  If anything this figure doesn't look as active as it could be, but I like it being static.

Figuarts Zero: Smoker and Figuarts Zero: Law (Punk Hazard)

I'm still on a wild One Piece kick (as always).  I know, I know, it's a lot of One Piece lately despite getting new cards, new games, new books and other goods, but I can't help it right now (sorry!)  

I wanted to do a quick little review of a couple of figures I picked up that go along very well with the recent episodes involving Punk Hazard: timeskip Smoker and timeskip Law!

First of all, the lighting I had sucked (stormy weather) I'm hoping my next set of photos will turn out better.  As always I start out with the Figuarts Zero boxes, which look good! Typical and not really too interesting, but keeping everything in place and letting you know about the figure inside.  I really need to get Tashigi and Ceasar Clown at some point....

Figure time! Man these guys look good straight out of the box, and pretty nice next to each other.  These two really made the arc for me, so I had to include them in my collection.

Standard bases, Marine for Smoker and Jolly Roger of the heart pirates for Law.  I gotta say, I dig that the feet are positioned just around the logos so you can still enjoy them when viewing.

Smoker has an amazing sculpt, and his vice admiral duds are were addressed in this figure.  My only concern is a few spots on the paintwork involving his green fringe, it tends to bleed onto the white parts of his coat.  It's not bad, but noteworthy.

I really like Oda giving him sunglasses, and the inclusion of them for this figure.  It can be difficult to see Smoker's face with his arm coming across.  There is a second arm to address this that look pretty good resting on his sleeve.

We can't forget about Law though, as he looks really nice in this pose.  It is a rather simple standing pose which may put people off, but that knowing smirk is what really draws myself to it anyway.  I don't know why they missed the chance to give him an alternate arm including either his 'room' or 'tact' hand pose (other than they knew a battle version coming out).  I really don't have any complaints about Law here, everything has a nice paint job and even the texture of his coat is included.

The only extra part they threw in was Law with his hat off.  I guess was used as a big draw for him considering this was the first Law figure to not include his hat.  It looks good, but I much prefer his hat as it feels like a part of his character.

So there they are! There is little to say about these guys since they are overall just very appealing! To anyone who is a fan of either of these One piece guys, I say get them!  Most figure shops still have these guys in stock.

Figuarts Zero: Magellan

So who is this imposing figure?  None other than the hard working Impel Down warden Magellan!

So I was late in picking up this figure, but WOW am I glad I did.  First up is the cool box.  I love it.

He looks really good with Sadie and Hannibal, so I may pick these up in the future.  Impel down was a really great arc.  Anyway, the box is really tall (as is Magellan0 so the shipping was a little high.

Again the boxes are typical Figuarts Zero boxes and his base is like the rest of the set, just large scale.

 I had heard a lot of online stories of the paint being off and especially the paintwork on his face.  It initially made me worried to get him, but after consideration I had to include him in my collection simply because of his Hydra being included in this figure. 

Not only are the Hydra heads amazingly detailed and really resemble the design in the manga/anime but my Magellan came with a perfect visage.  I personally love the little details on the collar and cap.

The buttons and the creases on his coat really give nice details to the figure.  Also his little feet have always entertained me.  He has a nice mix of shine and matte paintwork as well.

Seeing the venom dripping from his fingers is a lovely addition.  I can usually trust figuarts zero to include something interesting with their figures, even when they can't include alternate parts.

He also comes along with this transparent piece to help him stand without the base.  Some people use these with their bases and I suggest it since he is so heavy and may someday have lean issues.  He can still stand on the base without it included though.

As imposing as he is, size wise he isn't really in scale with the other figures.  Magellan is supposed to be the height of "3 men" but is merely just large figure wise.  Gekko Moria has the same issue in the FAZ line, but as long as you enjoy the character/figure this is an issue that can be forgiven.  Here he is next to Luffy for anyone curious!
